ABOUT ALONA

My name is Alona Miller, and I am a 22-year-old self-taught artist from Shaker Heights, Ohio. I have had a passion for art ever since I could hold a pencil. As a toddler, my mom used to keep me occupied with a sketch pad while running errands, and my love for drawing blossomed from there. It is my dream to turn my art into a lifelong and fulfilling career.

ABOUT MY ART

I have many sources of inspiration: people, the beauty and perfection of nature and the universe, and my dreams. A lot of my pieces have some sort of meaning behind them, hinted at through the titles, many of which represent specific experiences of my life. Other times, my works are the result of spur-of-the-moment inspiration, where the story lies in the physical art process and my thoughts and state of mind in the moment of creating.

My pieces also reflect my ongoing mental health journey with anxiety and depression. I often paint or draw vibrant, colorful, or intricate works of art, while also creating a meditative space for myself and others to acknowledge these feelings.

I hope that my creations can be a source of inspiration, not only to pursue one's passions but also to serve as a glimmer of beauty and optimism in a world that can feel extremely bleak.
